Who is responsible for your data

The entity responsible for your data on this platform is Mortakaz LLC, a company registered in Wyoming, USA, whose registered agent's address is: 30 North Gould Street, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Data we collect

When you sign in to the platform through Google, LinkedIn, GitHub, or Qabilah, we collect basic information, such as your name and email address, to personalize your experience and improve the service.

We also record your IP address and browser type when you sign in, vote, or add a review, to detect abuse and protect the integrity of voting. Only the platform's administration can see this data, and it is deleted automatically after a limited period.

Cookies

We use cookies to identify user sessions and make the platform easier to use. These cookies are automatically deleted when you sign out.

If a payment gateway is used, the authorized payment processor may set its own cookies to secure the transaction and prevent fraud. Those cookies are subject to that processor's own privacy policy.

Visitor analytics

We also use Umami to analyse site visits in order to develop the platform. Umami is a privacy-focused service that collects no sensitive personal data about users, and it complies with the privacy standards adopted in the European Union (GDPR-compliant).

What others can see

When you like an update on the platform, your name and profile picture may appear to other users within the list of people who liked that update.

Message read receipts

When a message is read on the platform, we record the time it was read and show it to whoever sent it, whether it is a direct message between two members or a message the platform's administration sent as part of a bulk send. Read receipts are always on for every member, and there is no setting that turns them off. We state this so that you know what the other side sees before you send.

Account deletion

When your account is permanently deleted at the end of its recovery period, we keep your name and username in the platform's internal activity log, only on the records of the deletion request and the final deletion, to document the deletion. Only the platform's administration can see these records, and they are deleted automatically within 30 days of the final deletion.

Inactive accounts

We may delete an account whose owner has not signed in for a long time, after warning them by email more than once, because we care about the quality of our community rather than its numbers, and we do not keep data we have no need for. In that case we delete the account's data and remove its votes and reviews from projects to keep them accurate. Nothing that identifies you then remains with us except the record of the emails we sent you, which only the platform's administration can see and which is deleted automatically after a limited period.

Sharing with third parties

We undertake not to sell or share any personal information with any third party, except where there is a clear legal or technical obligation consistent with this privacy policy.

Sponsorships and supporting partnerships have no effect on the privacy policy adopted at Mortakaz, and do not entail sharing any user or project data with any external party.

When you click financial contribution links, you may be directed to external platforms that are subject to their own privacy policies. The Mortakaz platform neither collects nor stores any data relating to financial contribution transactions, and does not view any financial information belonging to users.

Payment data

Bank card data is neither collected nor stored on Mortakaz servers. Payments for the paid membership are processed in full by an approved payment provider under its own privacy policy. To run the membership, we keep its status, the end date of the paid period, and the provider's identifiers for the member's customer record and subscription. We also keep a record of every payment notification the provider sends us, with its type, its status and its date, so that each notification is applied only once. The detailed content of each notification is stored without the member's contact details or payment-method details, and it is deleted after at most 90 days. When an account is deleted, these records are unlinked from the member, their detailed content is deleted, and we ask the payment provider to delete the member's customer record on its side.

Your consent and policy updates

By using the platform, you agree to this policy and acknowledge your full responsibility for the way you use the service.

The platform's management also reserves the right to update this statement at any time, notifying users where necessary.
